What are the safety precautions you are going to follow to ensure the safety of students?
Himalayan Outward Bound is licensed by Outward Bound International which is the world’s largest outbound training organisation. They follow some of the strictest safety standards in the industry. In fact Outward Bound has set safety standards for many wilderness programs world over.
Himalayan Outward Bound follows the same guidelines and is seeting new bench marks of safety in outdoor programs in India

Are the instructors qualified to handle students?
Himalayan Outward Bound instructors are some of the most experienced in India. They have years of experience in handling children and students. Our instructors realise the need to stand back and let the students look for solutions on their own but at the same time they make sure that safety is not compromised at any point.

What kind of technical qualifications the instructors have?
Himalayan Outward Bound instructors have been chosen for their competence and technical qualifications. Our instructors are qualified in the Outward Bound process and most of them are even qualified first aiders.

Are their going to be any female instructors who are going to help the girls with their issues?
A minimum of one female staff will be at hand to take care of our girl students.

What kind of medical facilities you have on the campus, in case of any need or in case of emergency?
We provide basic first aid facilities in camp. However for any serious medical emergencies we have a doctor on call as well as a tie up with good hospital 2 hours away from our base camp.

What are the various activities that are going to be conducted on the program?
Himalayan Outward Bound uses the outdoors and adventure activities as tools to achieve the ultimate goal of developing our youth. Our activities may be changed from group to group depending upon skill levels. As a base yardstick we use activities like rock climbing, ropes courses, navigation, camp set up as some of the activities.

 How is your program different from other programs? How is Outward Bound International adding value? What value does OBI certificate have?
Unlike other youth programs available in  India, HOB programs are geared towards the basic principals of self realisation, self denial and challenge by choice. We believe that once given the basic framework the child can innovate and take on any task given to him or her. The Outward Bound training process is known for it’s high rate of effectiveness all over the world.  Outward Bound students come back from a program as changed people with life long .
Outward Bound certificates are recognised in a majority of educational institutions all over the world.
What kind of experience you have working with students?
Outward Bound handles more than 200,000 students annually all over the world. In India our team has already conducted programs for more than 20,000 children over the last 3 years.

What is the participant / instructor ratio?
We try and maintain a 6 : 1 ratio in all our programs.
